Kendra Wilkinson shares her experience as Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend and how living in the Playboy Mansion affected her.
In 2004, at the age of 18, Kendra met Hugh Hefner at his 78th birthday party while she was working as a painted lady. Impressed by her, Hefner invited her to be one of his girlfriends.
Kendra lived in the Playboy Mansion until 2009, when she met her future husband, Hank Baskett. While participating in the reality show “Girls Next Door”, Kendra was one of Hefner’s three girlfriends, along with Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt.
Kendra Wilkinson has opened up about her mental health struggles following her time at the Playboy Mansion, and revealed doubts about the decisions she made in her youth.
After a severe panic attack in September that left her hospitalized, Kendra spoke to People about hitting rock bottom last year. He confessed, “I was dying of depression. I was at the end of my life and I went into psychosis. I felt like I wasn’t strong enough to live anymore.”
She attributes many of her struggles to her experiences at the mansion, saying, “Looking back at my 20s isn’t easy. I have had to face my demons. Playboy literally ruined my whole life.
Since being hospitalized, Kendra has been taking prescribed medication and attending outpatient therapy three times a week to address the trauma of her time at the mansion and her divorce from Hank in 2019.
admitting to reaching “The lowest place [she’d] ever went in [her] life,” Kendra couldn’t think of any way to move forward in the depths of her depression. She urged Hank, with whom she has 14-year-old son Hank IV and 9-year-old daughter Eliza Marie, to take her to the hospital.
After facing many challenges, Kendra now feels a sense of security towards her younger self. She admits to experimenting with drugs at the age of 15 and describes herself as struggling with “a lot of problems” during her teenage years.
Kendra embraced the party lifestyle, entering the Playboy Mansion at the age of 18, three years before reaching the legal drinking age. However, she now openly admits regret for the choices she made during her tenure.
“I really felt deep regrets [afterward]… deep. I struggled with depression before and at the mansion. I drank a lot of alcohol. I was there to party, okay, let’s be real. “I wasn’t there to have Hugh Hefner as my boyfriend.” He told the people.
Kendra reflected on the impact of being sexually assaulted at a young age and living in a mansion, revealing that it affected her self-esteem. He expressed, “I hate my breasts, my body, my face. I got to the point where I started hating myself.
Questioning her past decisions, she thinks, “Why did I have sex with Hugh Hefner at that age? Why did I do this? Why did I go to the mansion in the first place? Why did I get big breasts? Why am I a sex symbol? Why did I bleach my hair blonde? Why did I do this to myself? Why did I do this?”
Now, Kendra is actively working to free herself from the “maelstrom of terrible things” in her past and focus on her growing real estate career.
Expressing her wish, Kendra has decided to remove her daughter from a similar path. “I see flaws in my life where I’m trying to improve now so that my daughter doesn’t have to experience what I did at a young age. I don’t want my daughter to be sexually exploited like me.
Reflecting on her past choices, especially dating an older man at age 18, she questions, “What brought me to that point? These are the things I’m trying to get right in parenting my daughter. What can I do to show her that she is more than that?” Kendra emphasized that her focus, now in real estate, is a real gift she wants to provide to her children.
