Jill Jacobson’s health: About her cancer battle before her death

In September 2024, Jacobson revealed the “secret” she had been hiding for years – her battle with esophageal cancer. The late actress opened up about her health issue during an event gym masters show,

“It has been a mystery. “Kind of took me out of the game for a while,” Jacobson began. “It was esophageal cancer. The treatment took two-two and a half years.

Saying that her experience was “pretty intense”, Jacobson also described what it was like to live with the disease.

“You can’t work, you can’t work,” Falcon Crest The alum said. “And now I’m so grateful, I just want to move forward, I want to help people. It makes you want to help people.”

What is esophageal cancer?

According to the Mayo Clinic, esophageal cancer is the growth of harmful cells in the esophagus, which connects the throat to the stomach. Living with the disease makes it difficult to swallow food and liquids. There are no preventive measures to avoid esophageal cancer, and treatment usually involves surgical removal of the tumor from the patient’s esophagus.

How did Jill Jacobson die?

Jacobson’s team did not mention his esophageal cancer when announcing his death. However, the late actress’ friend and publicist Daniel Harries confirmed this Diversity Jacobson died after a “long illness”.

In a statement obtained by Entertainment WeeklyJacobson’s manager Ben Padua paid tribute to him.

“We are incredibly sad to say ‘goodbye’ to our beautiful, soulful, extremely funny, elegantly sensual client Jill Jacobson,” the statement read. “Jill was an actress with the comedic timing from a Marx Brothers film and the Hollywood glamor from her golden age. Jill took us on lots of adventures, and she was an absolute blast. Thanks, Jill. We will see you in our dreams.”
