American singer and television personality Cher, 77, recently shared her thoughts on why she prefers dating younger men. Known for mesmerizing audiences around the world, Cher’s charm and wit continues to win hearts.
Cher’s candid comments about her dating choices have sparked interest, thanks to her refreshing honesty. During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the ‘Believe’ singer discussed her romantic past. He even shared a surprising encounter with the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, in which he confessed that he had rejected his advances due to his nervousness.
“It was because I was nervous, and I knew about the people around him and it wasn’t that they were bad people, it was just that I was nervous about his reputation and I mean that. ‘When I’m not working I get really shy and a little shy around men,” He said.
Isn’t this surprising, given Cher’s iconic status? However, nowadays she is happily dating record executive Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, who is 39 years her junior. The legendary singer revealed that she prefers younger men because they are more open to strong, independent women like her.
“I would love to date men from later generations who were ‘raised by women like me’ and so were never afraid of me,” He further said, “And the reason I get involved with young men is because men my age or older – well, they’re all dead now.”

But Edwards doesn’t exactly fit that pattern. They were first romantically linked after meeting at Paris Fashion Week in 2022. Their relationship has been full of ups and downs since then. Although they faced a tough phase in May 2023, the superstar duo appears to have worked out their issues and are still in a strong position as of September 2023.
The singer has openly expressed her affection for the 38-year-old, and has stressed that among other qualities, his sense of humor keeps her captivated.
“He’s kind, smart, hilarious… and we kiss like teenagers,” Cher said while addressing a fan’s question on social media.
At first, fans expressed concern about Cher’s new romance, especially after learning that the producer was unfaithful to his ex, Amber Rose, with whom he has a son named Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.
However, the 77-year-old played down those concerns in his typical dignified style.
“I’m in love, not blind to it,” He said.
