Benny Blanco is fascinated.
In his interview for People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, the Grammy-nominated producer couldn’t stop talking about his relationship with Selena Gomez.
The 36-year-old songstress revealed that waking up next to his rumored fiancée, with whom he’s been discussing engagement for months, is actually the best part of his day.
“I’m a real morning person. This is my favorite time to spend with Sel, because we both wake up very early. It’s like our moment before the rest of the world wakes up.” He said. “Every day is the best day of my life.”
The two began dating in mid-2023, and according to Blanco, wizards of waverly place Starr is his ‘true best friend’ and someone he feels lucky to “do everything in the world” with.
He emphasized that, in relationships, “no games should be played.”
“I [still] Go all out for every date. This doesn’t mean that you spend your entire bank account. It means being attentive and listening.” he told the publication.
Despite his huge success in the music world, having collaborated with artists like Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna and Kanye West, the songstress still finds happiness in the “simple” things. He likes to make Gomez’s favorite foods, like deep-fried pickles and his own version from Taco Bell.
Then she reveals her secret to the perfect first date and suggests that it should be so memorable that your partner will call up their friends and say, “Oh my God… that was the craziest thing.”
“It’s going to be something crazy because you want to make an impact,” He continued. “That person is going out on a first date, and you have to reserve your spot.”
Benny also mentioned that he tries to create special moments because “everyone is so busy.”
“Everyone has a lot of work to do, everyone is very stressed. If we can sit back and forget everything for an hour to four hours – if it’s a good date, five – then things are good,” He added. ,Don’t you sometimes leave a date and you’re like, “Oh my God, what the hell? Time flew!”
The songstress also shared that Selena is a true romantic at heart.
“We do everything for each other. Once Sel said, “Oh, I’d like to take you on a date.” We drove somewhere and he rented out the entire botanical garden for me.” He said.
The first time they dated long distance, Benny recounts that Selena made him a bear, saying when he squeezed her hand, “I missed you so much. You’ll be okay. I’ll see you when I get back.”
“She is very good at giving gifts. She does the same thing as me: Most of our gifts, we make them for each other,” He gushed out.
She added that Gomez prefers “simpler” dates, such as when choosing fast food or when she brings him treats such as “candy and Hot Cheetos.”
“The No. 1 thing you need to do on a date is listen to what the person is saying. Don’t talk about yourself the whole time. no one cares,” He said.
Regarding gift giving, the record producer said that he “doesn’t like to buy something that everyone else is going to buy.”
