Who is Natalie ‘Samantha’ Rupno?

According to NBC News, police revealed that the shooter was Rupno. During a press conference after the shooting, Madison Police Chief Shawn Barnes informed the public that Rupno was dead. Rupno is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Rumors spread on social media about an alleged manifesto from Rupno, but Barnes pointed out that the document has not been verified. Barnes also addressed a rumor claiming that Rupno identified as trans.

“I do not know [the shooter] Was transgender or not,” Barnes told reporters. “I don’t think whatever happened today has anything to do with how he or they would want to be identified. And I want people to leave their personal biases out of it.”

Barnes continued, “Whether she was or not, she was, they were transgender, that may come out later, but what we’re doing right now, today, eight hours after the mass shooting at a school in Madison, is There are no consequences at this time.”

Suffering Abundant Life Christian School

According to NBC News, one teacher and one student died. Six others were injured, two of whom are in critical condition.

Police said Rupno opened fire on a study hall that contained students of various ages. The police chief said the call to 911 was made by a second-grade student.

“Let that soak for a minute. A second-grade student called 911 at 10:57 a.m. to report a shooting at the school, Barnes told the public.

Several outlets interviewed the surviving students, one of whom is just 8 years old. The student told WISC-TV that she heard gunshots and saw a teacher yelling, ‘Ah, my foot!’ help! help!”

According to CNN, as of December 2024, there have been at least 83 school shootings in the US this year. More than 50 incidents occurred in K-12 schools.
